Argofish
In
1981 we started up our own small fish processing business, Argofish,
in the nearby fishing village of St Monans. This still remains
a relatively small business today with no more than 5 employees
producing all our fish at Anstruther Fish Bar.
By personally selecting our fish from the quayside market early
each morning and hand-filleting it at Argofish, we can guarantee
only the freshest quality produce is delivered to the Fish Bar
in time for opening.
Our own smoked haddock are also quite a delicacy with grilled
smoked haddock and chips being another favourite with our customers
at the Fish Bar. The lightly brined fish are smoked to a traditional
method using oak shavings which produces the most succulent textured
haddock with a delicate smoked flavour.
For many years we have also been supplying several local fish
merchants with these same top quality fillets and our own smoked
haddock which are sold directly to customers at their doors all
over Scotland!
Customers are invited to look in to Argofish to see where our
fish is prepared and perhaps purchase some fresh fish to take
home. Our manager Paul will be only too pleased to help you choose
your fish and hand-fillet it for you while you wait.
