The Anstruther Fish Bar & Restaurant Menu
You
will notice we do not offer our customers seafood that has been
imported from half way around the world.
Why? - We pay meticulous attention to our supply chain, with a
tight ethical purchasing code and actively support small, local
suppliers who share our passion for sustainable seafood and are
constantly seeking out lower impact methods for sourcing fish,
such as farming.
By reducing the food miles used to provide our customers with
quality fresh seafood, we are effectively taking steps to reduce
our carbon footprint on the planet.
What are food miles?
Put simply, food miles are the measure of the distance a food
travels from net or field to plate.
This travel adds substantially to the carbon dioxide emissions
that are contributing to climate change, which is why food miles
matter.
Here at Anstruther Fish Bar, we are proud to continue to offer
our customers locally sourced produce.
